Hi, I’m Laura (La for short) ~ the artist behind The Land of La, a lively creative studio rooted in expressive watercolor and refined design.
It all began when I hand-painted my own wedding invitations, after nothing else felt quite like us. At the time, I was working as an art director at InStyle Magazine, where I spent 10 years immersed in visual storytelling and editorial design. That experience now informs every illustrated detail I create ~ for brands, celebrations, and the beauty found in everyday life.
A BIT ABOUT ME
~ I live just outside Philly with my husband, daughter, Maine Coon cat & German Shorthaired Pointer
~ Collecting seashells at the beach is my happy place
~ I have a soft spot for vintage ribbon & marbled paper
~ I swapped coffee for matcha, & fully obsessed
~ My dream is to one day own a flower farm
~ I’ve been handcrafting cards since I was six
~ I’m always listening to a good podcast—usually something about entrepreneurship, creativity or wellness
~ I’m endlessly curious about astrology, the afterlife, & all things spiritual
